ConfocalUniovi ImageJ is a compilation of the programme ImageJ made by the Photonic Microscopy and the Image Processing Unit of the University of Oviedo. It counts with a series of functions and plugins oriented towards working with images of Confocal Microscopy. It was initially made so that service users could view and process the images obtained with the Leica Confocal Microscope TCS SP2 AOBS, from the 1.3 version that allows working with a variety of image formats of confocal microscopes (Lieca, Zeiss, Nikon, Olympus, ect.).

At ConfocalUniovi ImageJ, there have been grouped, together with the ImageJ, a series of plugins of great utility for the processing of confocal images. All of the programme's functions are grouped in a graphic interface with a group of button that facilitate its use by the users.

Among other functions the programme includes plugins to: open images of any kind of microscope format (Leica, Zeiss, Nikon, Olympus.), make 3D reconstructions, obtain images of orthogonal sections, form image mosaics, make image panels, improve the image quality through deconvolution 2D and 3D.

The programme counts with manual with a detailed explanation of its installation as well as each of the functions and plugins that it is made up of.

On the 1.5 version some of the existing functions have been improved, two plugins for the analysis and viewing of surfaces have been included as well as a new plugin to make publication shapes. Moreover, a direct access to the pdf manual is included when clicking key "help".

En On the 1.51 version new functions to show image information have been included: make intensity scales, view hyperstack channels, delete "overlay" and extract different z series at different times. .

The new 1.6 version is based on the Fiji programme, including all plugins and functions of the same. Moreover, Confocal Uniovi has been modified eliminating some function that is no longer needed, such as standard image file openings and the deconvolution 2D (no integrated in the same function as 3D) and adding new functions: making of interactive measurements, gallery of images, stacks comparisons, topographic image, ect. This new 1.6 version is available for 64 bits Windows and Mac. .
